Testing TA pressure

Posted by Joe Schmitt on 28th Aug 2025

To test the pressure of the TA direct drive and TA mode. Attach a 400 psi gauge to the bottom rear plug of the mcv. It is a # 8 oring boss port. The pressure should be between 255 and 300 psi for both Direct Drive and TA. ( for 706 - 1486 tractors)  The needle on the pressure gauge will flutter when the shift occurs., but should be within 20 psi of one another.   The Ta psi and DD psi are required on the warranty card.
The lube pressure is also required to be tested and stated on the warranty card.
To test the lube pressure ,remove the electric pressure switch on the rear of the mcv and attach a 60 psi gauge to the 1/8" pipe thread port.  The lube pressure should be approximately 20psi .
